About Us
OUR VISION IS TO HELP PEOPLE INCREASE MEANING, JOY, AND PEACE IN THEIR LIVES.
OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE QUALITY NON-TRADITIONAL HOLISTIC BEHAVIORAL HEALTH.
Since 1986, Mr. Mazwi, Founder and Executive Director Mazwi Holistic Institute (MHI), has been deeply immersed in the world of meditation. He studied under Al-Duha Chase and expanded his knowledge at institutions like the Kadampa Center of Maryland and Baltimore Shambhala Centre. As the executive director of Echohouse Multiservice Center from 2016, and with the establishment of MHI in 2019, he emphasized a holistic approach to addiction treatment. Mr. Mazwi not only introduced mindfulness and meditation into recovery programs but also trained his staff to deliver these therapies. Recognizing the transformative power of a holistic approach, he has fostered partnerships to augment addiction treatment with acupuncture, yoga, and nutrition. MHI’s commitment remains steadfast: to treat the whole individual – mind, body, and spirit, ensuring a comprehensive recovery journey for all clients.
MHI works with adult clients dealing with substance use disorder issues utilizing individual & group counseling (telehealth & onsite), medication assisted treatment, alternative holistic services and case management. Staff is here to guide our clients toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. To accomplish this end, we have adopted a patient-centered therapeutic approach for every step of our addiction treatment process.
We are here to serve to the best of our ability. We are dedicated to the journey of recovery and healing for the whole person and welcome those who are ready to embark on this journey and live a life free of substance abuse.
